Shopping centres face unique challenges in today’s market. With consumers shifting to online purchasing, traditional shopping malls have been losing revenue to direct e-commerce brand-owned channels.

Kubensenter, based on Honefoss in Norway, is a mid-size shopping and retail destination with several major national retailers including Kitchn, H&M, Vero Moda, Enzo, Vila. Kuben identified an opportunity to launch a multi-vendor marketplace with a focus on giving customers the ability to buy direct from multiple national major brands in a single checkout for click and collect or online delivery. The marketplace would help Kuben to not only build a COVID-proof sales channel but also serve its digital-savvy customers.

What we did

Kuben connected its vendors with online shoppers through a well-designed and highly functional marketplace. Customers now will be guided to the mall’s virtual stores, with the opportunity to shop from their favourite brands within a single checkout.

Multiple payment methods and flexible delivery options are available on the marketplace. Thanks to a centralised delivery solution, customers now don’t have to pay for several deliveries and track multiple shipments when shopping from different vendors. Instead, they can purchase all items within a single checkout and receive all of them within one shipment. Such a process not only saves delivery costs but also ensures the best-in-class customer experience.

The Click & Collect option is offered as an alternative to delivery for the customers willing to pick up their order from a designated location at the shopping mall.

At the backend, the marketplace provides all the tools needed to ensure the highest level of vendors’ experience. Simplified retailer onboarding makes it extremely easy for the marketplace to connect new vendors, upload their product range and set up their payments. Every Vendor is integrated via Omnyfy’s Fuse ETL gateway delivering real-time product and inventory sync with their own e-commerce stores. A purpose-built retailer iPad app provides an easy way to receive and process orders. A streamlined payouts management allows the marketplace owner to reimburse funds to vendors in a timely and seamless manner.


Marketplace offering enabled Kuben to deliver a connected consumer experience across offline and online channels, elevating the shopping experience and increasing shopping centre revenue.

Launched in April 2021, The Kuben Shop Marketplace now has 15 retailers onboarded with over 60,000 SKU’s. Kuben expects to have the majority of all 60 retailers onboarded by the end of September 2021.
